Is it advisable to do strength and light weight exercises in gym after recovering from Cervical Spondylitis.?

I am 42 years old male. I have just recovered from severe cervical pain. Should I do the light weight exercises in gym or avoid it ?

After a cervical injury, try asking your physician to refer you to a physical therapist who can outline a cervical rehabilitation program which you can perform yourself in the gym.

I usually have my patients work with the therapist for a few sessions to be sure they a performing the exercises properly, then release them to the gym, with a suggested goal of when they should be able to increase to further exercises or increased weight.

This helps streghten the cervical region and decreases the risk of reinjury due to improper training.
